This letter is written in support of Bjorn Behrendt's application for employment. I have known Bjorn for approximately one year. Though I have only instructed him in one class, I am familiar with his professional work. From our classroom relationship, I have found him to be exceedingly bright. He has a quick mind grasping new concepts with ease. He has the ability to readily translate the theoretical into pragmatic application. He possesses excellent skills of analysis and synthesis, and is an adept problem solver. Bjorn is equally skilled interpersonally. He has a great sense of humor and a quick wit. He is appropriate in all regards and has good political instincts. I have heard, via numerous sources, of the results of Bjorn's professional endeavors. It is reported that he is conscientious, hard working, and committed to the task at hand. In addition, he is said to be creative and works very well independently. Finally, I have heard that he is willing to put in time, above the minimum, that is necessary to complete a task to his satisfaction. Prior to coming to academe, I was employed as an engineering manager for a Fortune 50 company. If I was still in that position, I wouldn't hesitate to have Bjorn in my employ. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.
