To whom it may concern:

It has been a pleasure knowing Bjorn Behrendt. I met him when he was a toddler and watched him grow from kindergarten to 6th grade at the Shrewsbury Mountain School.

I was his teacher when he was in third grade. His academic work was performed with endearing earnestness. He was kind to us all, both children and adults. His observations and comments were thoughtful and articulate.

While he was at Mill River Union High School, Bjorn pursued interests in music, technology and theater. He was involved with technical and constructive work before revealing a extraordinary talent for acting.

During his senior year he chose to return to his elementary school for his community service project. He worked with six students in third, fourth and fifth grades to create a humorous Hansel and Gretel. These Challenge Program students and I learned much from him.

Bjorn then provided technical direction and some strong coaching for a faculty production of Nobody Sleeps by Guernsey Le Pelley. His confidence and directness in coaching adults contrasted with the gentle teaching quality of his work with the children.

Bjorn clearly likes and respects children, and he has much to offer them from his knowledge and experience.

Sincerely,

Grace A. Brigham
